The invention discloses a single-channel two-way anti-following control method and an automatic channel gate thereof, a first gate mechanism and a second gate mechanism divide a single channel into a first passage area, a middle area and a second passage area, and the method comprises the following steps: receiving a trigger entry signal detected and reported by the first passage area and opening the first gate mechanism; after a trigger leaving signal reported by first passing area detection is received, a trigger entering signal of a middle area is received at the same time, and then a first gate mechanism is closed; the second gate mechanism is opened after a person entering from the first passing area passes identity permission verification in the middle area; and after receiving a departure triggering signal reported by the middle area detection and receiving an entrance triggering signal generated by a person entering the first passing area reported by the second passing area at the same time, closing the second gate mechanism. According to the invention, single-channel A and B door interlocking and bidirectional self-service verification can be realized, and the bidirectional anti-following problem can be effectively solved.
