Relating to the technical field of concrete preparation, the invention provides a geopolymer concrete with thermal insulation performance and a preparation method thereof, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing and stirring fine aggregate and a gel material to obtain a dry blend; mixing and stirring an alkali activator solution and the dry mixture to obtain slurry; mixing and stirring urea and the slurry to obtain a mixed intermediate; the mixed intermediate is poured into a mold, the pouring process comprises layered tamping and vibration, and the mold is wrapped with a sealing film; and performing standard curing on the mold filled with the mixed intermediate, performing high-temperature curing after demolding, and then performing natural curing to form the concrete. The urea is added in the concrete preparation process, so that the thermal insulation property of the geopolymer concrete can be effectively improved on the premise of ensuring the strength of the concrete. Moreover, a porous structure is formed in the concrete, so that the porosity is increased, the heat conductivity coefficient of the concrete is reduced, and the thermal insulation performance of the concrete is improved.
