Device and method for cooling concrete
A device for cooling concrete containing a predetermined amount of water, the device comprising an airtight housing (20) in which are defined: a chamber (1) for containing a desired amount of concrete; an inlet opening (2) for the entry of concrete into the chamber (1); and a tube (3) communicating with the chamber (1) and extending from the chamber (1) to an outlet opening (5) for the exit of concrete defined in the housing (20) at one end of the tube (3) at the opposite side to the chamber (1). The tube (3) is configured to convey concrete from the chamber (1) towards the outlet opening (5). The arrangement further comprises a vacuum pump (10) connected to the chamber (1) to adjust the pressure in the chamber to a degree that water from the concrete at least partially evaporates, and a condenser (12) arranged within the chamber (1) to condense the evaporated water. The condenser (12) is configured such that condensed water flows into the concrete within the chamber (1) and/or the pipe (3).
