The preparation method of the wavelength conversion device comprises the following steps: preparing fluorescent ceramic: processing and forming a fluorescent ceramic material into a first hollow cylinder, cutting the first hollow cylinder into more than two sector ring cylinders with inner side surfaces, outer side surfaces and tangent planes, and polishing; the inner side face, the outer side face and the tangent plane of each sector ring cylinder are coated with reflection slurry, baking is conducted, and the sector ring cylinders with the pre-bonding layers are obtained; splicing sector ring cylinders: splicing the sector ring cylinders with the pre-bonding layers together, and presintering to form a second hollow cylinder; preparing a fluorescent chip: cutting the second hollow cylinder to form a plurality of annular sheets, and sintering to obtain the fluorescent chip; and packaging the fluorescent chip: packaging the fluorescent chip to obtain the wavelength conversion device. The reflecting layer improves the luminous efficiency and the tolerance limit blue light power of the wavelength conversion device.
