The method includes spraying inorganic particles and a silicone resin as a dry particulate aerosol to form a coating. An uncalcined porous monolith article for forming a monolith article for treating exhaust gases is also provided. The uncalcined monolith article comprises a dry particulate composition comprising inorganic particles and a silicone resin.
