The invention discloses a steel pipe arch construction method, which belongs to the technical field of arch bridge construction, and comprises the following steps of bracket erection, arch rib section size inspection, arch rib mounting and positioning, arch rib section welding, steel pipe arch outer surface anti-corrosion treatment and temporary bracket removal. A temporary support is built on a main bridge which is poured in advance to support arch rib sections, and an operation protection platform at the top of the support provides protection in the welding process to protect vehicles on an existing road below; meanwhile, before the arch rib sections are hoisted, the out-of-roundness adjusting device is used for correcting the arch rib sections subjected to size out-of-roundness inspection, the arch rib sections are located through the locating device after being hoisted to the support, the arch rib sections subjected to slab staggering are corrected through the slab staggering adjusting device, and the arch bridge installation precision and the construction quality are improved. The method is particularly suitable for arch bridge assembly above the existing road which is not cut off, normal operation of vehicles is not affected, and economic benefits are improved.
