The invention relates to the technical field of ceramic plates, in particular to a ceramic plate and a preparation method thereof. The ceramic plate at least comprises a pattern layer and a substrate layer, the pattern layer is mainly composed of multicolor green body particles and ceramic powder, and the substrate layer is mainly composed of ceramic powder; seen from the surface of the ceramic plate, the multicolor green body particles account for 65-95% of the surface area of the pattern layer; the thickness of the multicolor green body particles is below 2mm; a plurality of adjacent silk-thread-shaped textures are distributed on the surfaces of the multi-color green body particles; each silk-thread-shaped texture is provided with one or a combination of two of a straight line section and a bent section, and the colors of the adjacent silk-thread-shaped textures are different; longitudinal, and/or transverse, and/or criss-cross textures are distributed on the cross section of the particles perpendicular to the extending direction of the silk-thread-shaped textures. The thickness of the multicolor green body particles on the surface layer of the ceramic plate provided by the invention is below 2mm, and the ratio of the multicolor green body particles on the surface of the plate is high, so that the surface of the plate has a rich multicolor effect.
