The invention discloses a cement grinding aid prepared from ethylene carbonate rectification residual liquid and a preparation method of the cement grinding aid. The cement grinding aid comprises the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 5-80% of a polyol mixed solution; 0-30% of alcohol amine; 0-16% of industrial salt; and the balance of water. According to the method, the ethylene carbonate rectification residual liquid is completely recovered and treated to serve as a raw material of the cement grinding aid, so that zero emission of the ethylene carbonate rectification residual liquid is realized, the cement grinding aid with an excellent grinding aiding effect is produced, and a new way is provided for treatment of the ethylene carbonate rectification residual liquid.
