The invention relates to a novel chromium reducing agent used in cement. Specifically, the invention provides a chromium reducing agent composition, a method for reducing the content of water-soluble hexavalent chromium in cement by using the chromium reducing agent composition, and a cement composition containing the chromium reducing agent composition. The present invention relates to a chromium reducer composition comprising: a chelating agent in an amount preferably from 30 to 60% by weight, preferably from 35 to 55% by weight, preferably from 40 to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the chromium reducer composition; and a stabilizer in an amount preferably from 0.1 to 1% by weight, preferably from 0.3 to 0.7% by weight, preferably from 0.4 to 0.6% by weight, based on the total weight of the chromium reducer composition. The chromium reducing agent composition has the advantages of obvious chromium reducing effect, excellent high temperature resistance, durability and storage stability, and low price.
