The invention relates to the technical field of mechanical balance weights, and provides a balance weight device, a balance weight method and an operation machine.The balance weight device comprises a balance weight body which is hinged to a rotary platform at a hinge point; one end of the counterweight oil cylinder is hinged with the revolving platform, and the other end is hinged with the counterweight body; one end of the bucket rod oil cylinder is hinged with the bucket rod, and the other end is hinged with the movable arm; and the hydraulic system is used for controlling the counterweight oil cylinder and the bucket rod oil cylinder, and under the action of the hydraulic system, the counterweight oil cylinder can extend or shorten along with shortening of the bucket rod oil cylinder, so that the counterweight body can rotate around the hinge point in the direction away from or close to the bucket rod, and the gravity center of the counterweight body moves backwards or forwards. The gravity center of the balance weight can be automatically adjusted according to the state of the bucket rod, so that the anti-tipping capacity of the whole machine is not a fixed capacity, and compared with the scheme that the whole balance weight moves backwards, the structure capable of achieving backward leaning of the balance weight and backward movement of the gravity center is small in turning radius.
