The invention belongs to the field of refractory materials, and discloses a novel vanadium-aluminum cylinder castable and a production method thereof.The production method comprises the steps that 72 wt% of ink corundum, 22 wt%-24 wt% of white corundum, 3 wt% of pure calcium aluminate cement and 1 wt%-3 wt% of silica fume are mixed to be uniform, and a mixture is obtained; adding water into the mixture, mixing, and molding by using a mold to obtain a blank; and the blank is dried and baked in sequence, and the vanadium-aluminum cylinder castable is obtained. According to the invention, the novel vanadium-aluminum cylinder castable is prepared by taking the inked corundum, the white corundum, the pure calcium aluminate cement and the silica fume as main raw materials, so that the service life of a vanadium-aluminum cylinder can be greatly prolonged, the vanadium-aluminum cylinder has good thermal shock resistance and compression strength, and the silicon and iron contents of a vanadium-aluminum alloy are not increased.
