The invention provides an escalator system. The escalator system comprises a rail, a conveying piece and an arc-shaped handrail. The conveying piece is movably arranged on the track. The conveying piece is provided with a first side and a second side which are opposite. The arc-shaped handrail is movably arranged on the conveying piece in a penetrating mode. When the arcuate handrail moves to be exposed out of the first side of the conveying piece, the arcuate handrail selectively provides advancing holding or abutting protection according to the advancing direction. When the arcuate handrail moves to be exposed out of the second side of the conveying piece, the arcuate handrail selectively provides abutting protection or advancing holding according to the advancing direction.
