The invention discloses freeze-thaw resistant iron tailing foam concrete and a preparation method thereof. The freeze-thaw resistant iron tailing foam concrete is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-45 parts of iron tailing powder, 40-65 parts of cement, 5-15 parts of fly ash, 25-50 parts of water, 1-2 parts of a foaming agent, 0.5-1 part of polypropylene fiber, 1-1.5 parts of a water reducing agent and 0.05-0.1 part of a foam stabilizer, wherein the water reducing agent is a self-made polycarboxylic acid type high-efficiency water reducing agent. The anti-freezing and thawing performance of the iron tailing powder foam concrete is greatly improved by double doping of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer and the polypropylene fiber, and a new way is opened up for comprehensive utilization of the iron tailing powder.
