The invention discloses a modified basalt fiber as well as a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of fiber preparation. A preparation method of the modified basalt fiber comprises the following steps: dispersing calcium carbonate in water, and adding polyethyleneimine for reaction to obtain calcium carbonate/PEI; then sequentially taking polymethyl acrylate and ethidene diamine as modifiers, and reacting to obtain calcium carbonate/PEI/PAMAM-1; the step 1.2 is repeated, and calcium carbonate/PEI/PAMAM-2 is prepared; mixing with an organic compound and an organic solvent to obtain slurry for later use; the preparation method comprises the following steps: removing impurities on the surfaces of original basalt fibers to obtain pretreated basalt fibers, and soaking the pretreated basalt fibers in a hydrochloric acid solution at 30-40 DEG C to obtain acid-treated basalt fibers; and soaking the acid-treated basalt fiber in the slurry, and soaking at normal temperature to obtain the modified basalt fiber. The prepared modified basalt fiber can improve the crack resistance and compressive strength of concrete.
