The preparation method of the environmental barrier coating for the ceramic-based composite material comprises the following steps: adding high-entropy rare earth microcrystalline glass powder into a dispersing agent, then adding a sintering aid and a binder, and mixing and stirring to obtain environmental barrier coating slurry; uniformly coating a CMC base material with the environmental barrier coating slurry, and heating at 60-80 DEG C to remove the dispersing agent so as to obtain a pretreated CMC base material; and heating the pretreated CMC base material to 1500-1600 DEG C, and carrying out heat preservation to obtain the environmental barrier coating. The preparation method is low in cost and simple and controllable in process, corrosion-resistant high-entropy rare earth disilicate (5RE0.2) 2Si2O7 crystals and mullite crystals with high chemical tolerance are obtained through in-situ devitrification of high-entropy rare earth aluminosilicate glass ceramics at high temperature, meanwhile, a small amount of residual glass phase can enhance the bonding strength of a coating and a matrix, a Si bonding layer is not needed, and the preparation method is suitable for large-scale production. The single-layer environmental barrier coating resistant to 1500 DEG C corrosion can be prepared.
