The exterior wall separation seam paint is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-40 parts of water, 0.1-0.3 part of cellulose ether, 0.1-0.2 part of bentonite, 0.2-0.4 part of a dispersing agent, 0.1-0.2 part of a wetting agent, 0.2-0.4 part of a defoaming agent, 5-15 parts of heavy calcium carbonate, 30-50 parts of an acrylic emulsion, 1-2 parts of an anti-freezing agent, 1-2 parts of a coalescing agent, 8-12 parts of a masking paper anti-tearing agent and 3-5 parts of water-based color paste. The preparation method comprises the following steps: adding the cellulose ether and the bentonite into water, stirring, adding the dispersing agent, the wetting agent and the defoaming agent, stirring, adding the heavy calcium carbonate, dispersing, adding the acrylic emulsion, the anti-freezing agent, the coalescing agent, the textured paper anti-tearing agent and the water-based color paste, and stirring; the coating method comprises the following steps: constructing the putty layer, constructing the outer wall separation seam paint and pasting the masking paper, constructing the primer layer, constructing the stone-like paint layer, and taking down the masking paper. The exterior wall separation seam paint has excellent putty adhesion, artificial weathering aging resistance and masking paper tearing resistance.
