The invention discloses a construction method for additionally building a steel structure column on an existing building concrete structure column. A protective layer of a column head reinforcing steel bar of the existing concrete structure column is chiseled to expose the column head reinforcing steel bar; providing a plurality of core bars and a plurality of outer edge bars, and welding and connecting the plurality of core bars and the plurality of outer edge bars to the column head steel bar; a pre-embedded steel plate is provided, a plurality of penetrating holes are formed in the pre-embedded steel plate, and the positions of the penetrating holes correspond to the positions of the first vertical sections of the core ribs and the positions of the second vertical sections of the outer edge ribs one to one; the first vertical sections of the multiple core ribs and the second vertical sections of the multiple outer edge ribs are arranged in the penetrating holes of the embedded steel plate in a penetrating mode; the levelness of the embedded steel plate is adjusted, and the first vertical section and the second vertical section are connected to the embedded steel plate in a welded mode; grouting materials are poured between the embedded steel plate and the existing concrete structure column; and hoisting the steel structure column and mounting the steel structure column on the embedded steel plate. The problem that the construction efficiency is low when a steel structure column is additionally built on an existing building concrete structure column is solved.
