This work machine is provided with an object detection device, an imaging device, and a control device for controlling the activation of a prime mover. The control device determines whether or not an object is present around the fuselage on the basis of a detection signal detected by the object detection device. The control device activates the prime mover when the prime mover activation command is received from the external information terminal and when it is determined that there is no object around the fuselage. When the control device receives a prime mover activation command from the external information terminal and determines that an object is present around the body, the control device does not activate the prime mover, and transmits, to the external information terminal, data of the image captured by the imaging device and an activation approval request for the prime mover. The control device activates the prime mover when an approval command for an activation approval request for the prime mover is obtained from the external information terminal.
