The invention relates to a grating beam slab formwork (100). The grating beam slab formwork (100) comprises a main beam (104), a secondary beam (106), a multi-stage movable head unit (102) and a supporting column (118). The multi-stage active head unit (102) provides up to or more than six connection points for the primary beam (104) and the secondary beam (106). The multi-stage movable head unit (102) allows for the construction of additional structures that otherwise require a separate movable head or adapter, thereby reducing the overall cost associated with the formwork. Moreover, the multi-level active head unit (102) enables the creation of a platform at any location of need. In another aspect, adapters (116, 301) prevent jamming of the cladding members, so that the beams can be removed when the concrete reaches the desired strength, and loads can be borne by the struts (118).
