The invention relates to the technical field of porcelain insulators, and particularly discloses a manufacturing process of glazed sand for an ultrahigh-voltage porcelain insulator, which comprises the following steps: I, uniformly mixing glaze powder with porcelain sand; iI, in a state that the porcelain sand and the glaze powder are uniformly stirred, continuously stirring while adding glue, so that the glue wraps the glaze powder on the porcelain sand to form glazed sand with the porcelain sand on the inner layer, the glaze powder on the middle layer and the glue on the outer layer; in the step I, the mass ratio of the porcelain sand to the glaze powder is controlled to be 1: (0.6-0.9); the mass of the glue in the step II is 1/4-1/3 of that of the glaze powder; after the glazed sand is prepared, the glazed sand is tightly covered with a container, the glazed sand is prevented from being dried, and it is guaranteed that the surface of the glazed sand has viscidity when the glazed sand is used. The scheme is used for solving the problems that in the using process of existing glaze-wrapped sand, glaze falls off, and the final bending strength is affected due to falling of the glaze-wrapped sand.
