The invention provides a design method for additionally paving an asphalt surface layer on an existing concrete pavement. The design method comprises the following steps: S1, detecting and evaluating the condition of the existing pavement; s2, determining an additional paving mode of the existing concrete pavement according to the detected slab breaking rate and average slab staggering quantity; s3, determining the paving thickness of the existing concrete pavement according to the detected thickness and flexural tensile strength of the existing concrete pavement; s4, determining an anti-reflection crack design according to the detected seam load transfer capability; s5, according to the additional paving mode, the additional paving thickness and the anti-reflection crack design, determined in the above steps, of the existing concrete pavement, the combination design between the structural layers is determined; and S6, outputting the pavement structure through the above steps. According to the method, through interlayer combination design, the structures form a whole, then the pavement combination design is obtained, and guidance and operability are high.
