The invention relates to building construction, in particular to a construction method for backfilling and tamping the periphery of a well chamber in a narrow space and a tamping machine tool. Comprising the following steps that A, after a well chamber is built, layered backfilling is conducted on the periphery of the well, and an integrated tamping machine tool is integrally placed on the periphery of the well chamber; b, the upper portion of a tamping machine tool is fixed to the periphery of the well wall of the well chamber, and a tamping plate of the tamping machine tool is tightly attached to backfill soil; c, electrically connecting a motor of the tamping machine tool with an external power supply; d, a motor is started and vibrates, and energy is transmitted to the tamping plate; e, after the ramming plate receives the impact energy, the energy is rapidly transmitted to the foundation, and the foundation deforms and is compacted; f, after single-layer tamping is completed, the tamping machine tool is lifted, the next layer of backfill soil is filled, the machine tool is lowered, and tamping continues; and G, the step F is repeated till all tamping construction is completed. The tamping machine tool is of an integrated structure, the construction efficiency is greatly improved, the influence of the surrounding environment is small, the construction quality and safety are guaranteed, and the construction period is shortened.
