Solidification control composition for gelling systems
A set control composition for a gelling system comprising: a) (a-1) a hydroxymonocarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, and (a-2) optionally a polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof having an equivalent weight of carboxylic acid of 333 or less, the equivalent weight of carboxylic acid being the molecular weight of the polycarboxylic acid divided by the number of carboxylic acid functional groups wherein the carboxyl groups of (a-1) comprise at least 90% of the total number of carboxyl groups of (a-1) and (a-2), and the equivalent weight of carboxylic acid is at least 90% of the total number of carboxyl groups of (a-1) and (a-2). B) at least one of (b-1) a borate source and (b-2) a carbonate source wherein the carbonate source is selected from the group consisting of inorganic carbonates having a water solubility of 0.1 g.L <-1 > or more at 25 DEG C and organic carbonates, the weight ratio of b) to a) is in the range of 1.2 to 20, and c) a polyol, the weight ratio of c) to a) is in the range of 1.0 to 10. The solidification control composition for the gelling system effectively improves the processability of the gelling system over a long period of time without compromising the early compressive strength.
