The invention relates to an automatic control method for a vehicle tail door, terminal equipment and a storage medium. The method comprises the steps that the user height set by a user, the maximum allowable opening speed of the tail door during rainfall and the common opening speed of the tail door are received; receiving a current rainfall amount and a rainfall incident angle collected by a rainfall sensor; when a tail gate opening instruction is received, the current tail gate movement speed is calculated according to the current rainfall amount, the tail gate maximum allowable opening speed and the tail gate common opening speed; calculating the maximum opening angle of the tail gate according to the current rainfall incident angle and the height of the user; and the tail gate is controlled to be opened at the calculated current tail gate movement speed, and the tail gate opening action is executed with the maximum opening angle of the tail gate as the end point of the tail gate opening stroke. According to the control method, the movement speed and the maximum opening height of the tail gate can be optimized, controlled and adjusted according to the rainfall condition in the rainy weather, and the use experience of a user is improved.
