The production process of modification is carried out under normal pressure, and the method has the advantages of simple process, high efficiency and excellent cost performance. Propenyl polyoxyethylene ether, hydroxyethyl acrylate and an acrylic monomer participate in copolymerization to form a short-comb-shaped hydrophilic long-chain branch chain, no polymerization inhibitor is added in the reaction process, a phenolic compound in a depolymerized lignin product serves as the polymerization inhibitor, the lignin depolymerized product is grafted and modified, and the obtained product contains sulfonic acid groups, carboxyl groups and ester groups, so that the viscosity of the product is improved. The molecular weight is moderate (5000-30000), effective electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance effects can be generated on slurry particles, and the dispersing performance is excellent.
