A door handle assembly for a vehicle includes a first panel, a second panel, a receiving region, a seal, and a cord. The second panel is coupled to an outer surface of the first panel. The receiving region is formed by the first panel and the second panel and includes a slot and a plurality of grooves. The slot enables a user to cause unlocking of the door. A seal is attached to at least some of the plurality of grooves and extends along a periphery of the receiving region. The cord is detachably coupled with the seal such that pulling the cord from an end of the cord causes the cord to disengage from the seal and causes the seal to bend in a pulling direction of the cord to cause repositioning of the seal.
