Horizontal mechanically stable geogrid with improved geo-interactions
Aspects of a geogrid system for improving substrate interaction within a geotextile environment are disclosed. In one aspect, features of the geogrid system help capture and confine aggregate and soil. In one aspect, a geoenvironment is configured with a horizontal multi-layer mechanically stabilized geogrid. In described aspects, a geogrid is extruded with a polymeric material and a compressible porous layer. In described aspects, a horizontal multi-layer mechanically stabilized geogrid includes a cover or core of a polymeric material, or also includes at least one compressible porous layer disposed to a polymeric material. Further, the horizontal multi-layer mechanically stabilized geogrid is configured in a triangular or tri-axial geometry with patterned discontinuities and a plurality of strong axes. The configuration increases the capture of soil and aggregate while reducing the use of polymers.
