The invention relates to the technical field of gabion paving, in particular to a gabion filling construction method which comprises the following steps that firstly, a gabion net cage is paved on site in situ, and the gabion net cage comprises a plurality of grid units; secondly, an embedded mold is placed in the constructed grid unit, wherein the embedded mold is of a vertically-through box body structure, and the embedded mold is arranged to be higher than the grid unit; thirdly, the inner side of the embedded mold is filled with stone, and the filling height of the stone is larger than the height of the corresponding grid unit; and 4, the embedded mold is slowly lifted, and the stone can diffuse to the peripheral edge from bottom to top under the heavy pressure of the upper-layer stone. According to the method, large-area on-site rapid paving can be achieved, stone assembling and mold disassembling are convenient, the construction efficiency is high, and the constructed gabion structure is neat and attractive in appearance and high in acceptance inspection quality.
