The invention discloses an embankment side pile horizontal displacement monitoring method. According to the method, the laser instruments and the intervisibility lighting targets are arranged at the boundaries of the two longitudinal ends of the embankment respectively, only two sets of laser instruments and intervisibility lighting targets need to be arranged at each embankment, the positioning lighting targets are arranged at the transverse boundaries of the embankment, laser beams are projected by the laser instruments to penetrate through the bull's eyes of the positioning lighting targets to reach the bull's eyes of the intervisibility lighting targets, and the laser beams are transmitted to the embankment. The distance between the side piles and the positioning lighting target at the section and the distance between the side piles can be measured, the problems that in a traditional method, time and labor are wasted and cost is wasted due to the fact that fixing piers need to be arranged at each monitoring section are solved, and if the monitoring sections are arranged according to specifications or design requirements, due to the fact that the monitoring sections are large in number, the monitoring accuracy is high.
