The invention relates to a construction and design method of a tension type stone masonry wall reinforcing structure, which comprises an L-shaped steel plate, and the L-shaped steel plate is embedded and fixed in four corner mortar joints on one side of a stone masonry wall; the two L-shaped steel plates are connected through a high-strength steel wire; the end part of the high-strength steel wire is tensioned and fixed on the L-shaped steel plate through a steel wire rope tapered end; the polymer mortar surface layer is arranged on one side of the stone masonry wall and covers the L-shaped steel plates and the high-strength steel wires; the high-strength steel wires are combined with the L-shaped steel plates and the polymer mortar, so that the lateral bearing capacity and the anti-seismic property of the stone masonry wall are improved, and the overall stability of the stone masonry wall is remarkably improved; according to the adopted single-side lossless reinforcing method, damage to an original stone masonry wall structure is avoided, the original building appearance is maintained, and the historical building repairing requirement is met.
