The high-temperature-resistant graphite crucible/box body comprises a body and a coating, wherein the body comprises the following substances in parts by weight: 40-60 parts of graphite; 10 to 15 parts of silicon carbide; 10 to 25 parts of silicon powder; 5 to 10 parts of boron carbide; and the coating comprises TaC. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, preparing the graphite crucible/box body; and S2, preparing the graphite crucible/box body. The composition can be used for smelting metal materials, and has the advantages of high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, long service life and high stability.
