Anti-fatigue flexible road structure
An anti-fatigue flexible road structure comprising one or more subbase structure support layers located on a compacted soil foundation, in which at least one of the subbase structure support layers is an elastic subbase layer for more completely distributing surface loads, and the elastic subbase layer comprising aggregate, filler, binder, and recycled tire rubber, the content of the regenerated tire rubber is 3-5 percent by weight of the sum of the aggregate, the filler and the rubber. The elastic sub-base layer has a fatigue life that is at least 25% higher than that of the non-elastic sub-base layer that does not contain the reclaimed rubber, and in addition, the elastic sub-base layer has an elastic modulus that is at least 25% lower than that of the non-elastic sub-base layer that does not contain the reclaimed rubber.
