The invention belongs to the technical field of bridge suspender damping, and discloses a damper which comprises a suspender body, a supporting assembly, a conversion mechanism and two energy consumption mechanisms. The supporting assembly is fixedly connected to the suspender body in a sleeving mode, the switching mechanism is arranged on the supporting assembly, and the two energy consumption mechanisms are arranged on the upper portion and the lower portion of the supporting assembly respectively and connected with the switching mechanism. The supporting assembly comprises a mounting sleeve, the mounting sleeve is fixedly connected to the suspender body in a sleeving mode, and a waterproof top is fixedly arranged on the upper portion of the exterior of the mounting sleeve in a sleeving mode; the switching mechanism comprises a first high-performance rubber sleeve, and the first high-performance rubber sleeve is fixedly connected to the mounting sleeve in a sleeving mode. According to the design, under the action of wind power, vertical reciprocating motion of rotation of the blades is achieved, the motion mode can replace a viscous damper applied to a wind-resistant shock absorber, limitation of a sealed environment is not needed, and the wind-resistant shock absorber is suitable for being exposed to the external environment to be used.
