The invention discloses a cable trench excavation and turf protection method which comprises the following steps: positioning and paying off a cable trench, determining an excavation boundary, and selecting a proper excavation bucket; after the construction working face and the stacking face are arranged in a distinguished mode, the turf at the excavation position is stripped, cable trench excavation is conducted after the turf is stripped by a certain distance, and soil and the turf are placed in a separated mode; after excavation is completed, cables are put in, backfilling laying is carried out, a space used for containing the turf is reserved in the backfilling process, and the turf is laid back; and after the turf is laid back, the turf is maintained, and pedestrians and vehicles are prevented from passing at the laying-back position. According to the green cable trench excavation method, when cable trenches are excavated in the grassland environment with the requirement for ecological environment protection, the ecological environment can be recovered in time after cables are laid through the measures of peeling maintenance of the turf, laying of a cushion layer, laying of the turf after the cables are laid and the like.
