The invention relates to a device for supplying electric power to an electric vehicle (139), comprising: one or more power batteries; at least one current collector (140) integrated into the vehicle (139); and at least one fixed electrical conduit in the ground substantially parallel to the direction of travel of the vehicle (139), comprising a vertical slot leading into a cavity of the conduit for receiving a collector (140), the cavity housing at least one electrical contact surface connected by a cable to a fixed current source, the electrical contact surface retracts from a direct passage through said slot, characterized in that the electrical contact surface is positioned as an inclined cornice within the cavity of the conduit. The device is further characterized in that the slot has a width that is less than a safety standard, according to which a finger must not be able to penetrate the slot, the width of the safety standard being currently set to 12 mm in European (IEC 60529).
