The invention relates to a magnesia-calcium brick for an AOD (Argon Oxygen Decarburization) slag line part and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of basic refractory materials, the magnesia-calcium brick comprises the following raw materials: granules, fine powder and a binding agent; the granules comprise high-calcium magnesia-calcium sand granules, low-calcium magnesia-calcium sand granules, fused magnesia granules and sintered magnesia granules; the fine powder comprises fused magnesite fine powder, sintered magnesite fine powder and magnesium-calcium fine powder. According to the invention, the sintering degree is improved by utilizing the difference of chemical compositions and physical properties of different types of granules, a small amount of magnesia-calcium sand fine powder is added, and the sintering of a matrix part is promoted by utilizing a liquid phase generated by the magnesia-calcium sand fine powder at a relatively low temperature. The magnesia-calcium brick for the AOD slag line part, prepared by the method, is good in sintering performance, high in compactness and high in steel slag corrosion resistance.
