An urban road rainwater utilization system comprises a side zone arranged between a motorway and a non-motorized vehicle lane, rainwater ports arranged along the whole line of the road are formed in the edges, close to the side zone, of the motorway and the non-motorized vehicle lane, and a rainwater storage pond arranged along the whole line of the side zone is arranged on the lower side of the side zone. A rainwater inlet hole is formed in the side wall, adjacent to the rainwater storage pond, of the rainwater opening; a top plate is arranged at the top of the rainwater storage pond, a U-shaped groove is formed by the top plate and the top faces on the two sides, the U-shaped groove can be filled with soil used for planting green plants, and a drip irrigation pipe is arranged at the top of the U-shaped groove; a solar automatic water supply system is arranged at one end of the rainwater regulation and storage pond, rainwater in the rainwater regulation and storage pond is guided into a drip irrigation pipe, drip irrigation maintenance is conducted on the green plants in the side zone, and meanwhile a water segregator can be additionally connected to maintain the green plants in the road conceding range. According to the method, rainwater utilization is completed, the flood peak flow is reduced, the pressure of a rainwater pipe network is reduced, and the manual maintenance cost of green plants is saved.
