The invention discloses a water surface garbage collecting device which comprises a ship body, a salvage assembly and a storage assembly, the salvage assembly comprises a salvage claw and a salvage driving part, the salvage claw is arranged on the ship body in a sliding mode, and the sliding track of the salvage claw is provided with a first position extending into water to salvage garbage and a second position separating from the water surface to dump the garbage. The salvage driving piece drives the salvage claw to be switched between the first position and the second position. The storage assembly comprises a storage box and a compression part, and the compression part has a first state for receiving the garbage poured by the salvage claw and a second state for compressing the garbage and guiding the compressed garbage into the storage box. By means of the water surface garbage collecting device, garbage can be compressed after being fished, and the problem that the storage box needs to be cleaned frequently due to the fact that the storage space occupied by the garbage is too large is solved.
