The invention discloses a construction method of an inland river retaining wall. The construction method comprises the following steps: a, preparation before construction; b, retaining wall construction; c, drain pipe welding; d, backfilling; and e, construction is completed. According to the device, the water seepage sections of the drainage pipes located on the lower row are clamped in batches through the clamping assemblies in the auxiliary welding mechanism, the water seepage sections and the drainage pipes are in butt joint, welding is conducted after butt joint is completed, construction of the drainage pipes on the upper row is repeatedly completed after construction of the drainage pipes on the lower row is completed, and after construction is completed, the auxiliary welding mechanism is taken out of a foundation pit; and then earthwork backfilling is conducted, handrails are installed, and construction of the retaining wall is completed. The water seepage sections of the drainage pipes are clamped in batches, batch welding and fixing of the drainage pipes are facilitated, the installation efficiency of the drainage pipes is greatly improved, a large amount of manpower can be saved, the auxiliary welding mechanism can be recycled, and cost is saved.
