The invention provides high-performance activated carbon ceramic and a preparation method thereof. The activated carbon ceramic is prepared from the following raw materials: 30-50 parts of waste powdered activated carbon, 50-70 parts of aluminum isopropoxide, 25-35 parts of microcrystalline glass and 1-5 parts of binder polyvinyl alcohol. The raw materials are subjected to gelation, mixing, forming and low-temperature sintering to obtain the activated carbon ceramic. The activated carbon ceramic prepared by the method has the characteristics of high strength and excellent adsorption effect when being applied to treatment of flowing printing and dyeing wastewater. The invention has the advantages of wide and easily available raw materials, simple formula, simple process operation, environmental friendliness and low energy consumption, can realize large-scale application, and realizes treatment of waste with waste.
