The invention discloses an underground drainage system for a peripheral side wall of a hydropower station workshop and a hydropower station, and the underground drainage system comprises a plurality of vertical drainage pipes which are vertically arranged on the periphery of the side wall of the workshop at intervals; the multiple drainage transverse pipes are arranged in the vertical direction in a layered mode, the multiple drainage transverse pipes are arranged on each layer at intervals, a drainage vertical pipe is arranged between every two adjacent drainage transverse pipes in the vertical direction, and the multiple drainage transverse pipes communicate with the drainage vertical pipes correspondingly; the water collecting well is arranged on one side of the hydropower station plant; wherein the upper parts of pipe bodies of the drainage vertical pipe and the drainage transverse pipes are respectively provided with water permeable holes and are suitable for collecting underground water, a certain gradient exists between the plurality of drainage transverse pipes and the drainage vertical pipe, and the drainage transverse pipe at the bottommost layer extends to the water collecting well and stores the collected underground water into the water collecting well. The underground drainage system can effectively drain underground water around the hydropower station plant, and the plant safety is guaranteed.
