The invention relates to a method for sequestration of CO2, comprising the steps of: providing a starting product comprising at least 20% by mass of one or more of the following components: superaumasitic rock, weathered products of superaumasitic rock, olivine and/or industrial waste; homogenizing the starting product; and hydrothermally treating the homogenized starting product in a thermal treatment apparatus at a temperature above 100 DEG C for at least 24 hours. Furthermore, it is provided that the converted starting product is at least partially dehydrated by heat treatment and/or reaction milling in order to remove bound water. Subsequently, the product thus obtained is contacted with CO2, where the latter is bound.
