The invention relates to the field of hydraulic engineering embankments, and discloses an embankment structure giving consideration to load shedding of an existing river-crossing building, comprising: an embankment comprising a first embankment and a second embankment which are arranged above the existing river-crossing building and are arranged at the upstream and downstream of the river-crossing building at intervals along the direction parallel to the water flow, the spacing distance between the two is the width of the existing river-crossing building along the water flow direction; the empty box is arranged on the top face of the existing river-crossing building, the two sides of the empty box are sequentially connected with the first dike and the second dike correspondingly, a containing cavity is formed in the empty box, vertical bearing on the upper portion of the existing river-crossing building is reduced, the load on the upper portion of the existing river-crossing building is within the allowable range, the existing river-crossing building does not need to be dismantled, and the cost is reduced. The contradiction between dike construction and the running of the existing river-crossing building is eliminated, and the compatibility and practicability of engineering are improved; and soil can be backfilled in the accommodating cavity, so that the anti-floating stability of the empty box structure is enhanced.
