The invention discloses an air water generator suitable for arid and semi-arid areas and a working method, and the air water generator comprises an independent air duct system consisting of an evaporator, a moisture-proof axial flow fan and a condenser, and a refrigerating system consisting of a totally-enclosed scroll refrigerating compressor, a liquid-gas separator, an electronic expansion valve and a cooling fan, the water treatment purification system is composed of a water receiving tank, a three-stage sedimentation water tank, a liquid level controller, a water pump, a three-stage filter, an electronic flowmeter and a drainage valve, the automatic control system is composed of a temperature sensor, a relative humidity sensor, an electric energy meter and a touch screen, and the equipment box body is composed of a box frame, a bottom plate, an outer plate, a cover plate, a dustproof net, wheels and hanging rings. The system can be suitable for arid and semi-arid areas, can cope with meteorological environments with low temperature, less rain, large day and night temperature difference, drought, windy, long sunshine duration and low dew point temperature, is suitable for dew point temperatures of different environments, and is high in water outlet speed, large in water production amount and convenient to move.
