The earth and rockfill dam structure for preventing overtopping hazards comprises a dam, a self-chamber type wave wall, a dam crest drainage ditch and an intercepting ditch. Wherein the two sides, in the length direction, of the dam are combined with mountain bedrock; the self-chamber type wave wall is arranged at the dam top of the dam, the self-chamber type wave wall is located on at least one side, close to the mountain bedrock position, of the dam, the self-chamber type wave wall comprises a self-chamber gap and a self-chamber door, the self-chamber gap is used for forming a drainage gap for the self-chamber, and the self-chamber door is arranged at the position of the self-chamber gap in a blocking mode; the dam crest drainage ditch is arranged on the downstream side of the self-chamber type wave wall and communicates with the self-chamber notch. The intercepting ditch is arranged on the downstream side of the dam and communicates with the dam crest drainage ditch. The earth and rockfill dam structure capable of preventing overtopping hazards is simple in structure and low in cost, and meanwhile the overtopping risks of the earth and rockfill dam coping with excessive flood and the like can be effectively improved.
