The invention relates to a construction method of a beam type combined support spanning an existing structure, which comprises the following steps of: treating a foundation, and arranging a strip-shaped foundation capable of providing enough bearing force in the foundation; steel pipe stand columns are constructed above the strip-shaped foundation, the steel pipe stand columns are located on the two sides of an existing structure needing to be spanned, and the bottoms of the steel pipe stand columns are fixed to the strip-shaped foundation; spandrel girders are constructed above the steel pipe stand columns; a large truss unit is constructed above the bearing beam; and a distributive girder is constructed above the large truss. The bridge construction platform has the advantages that a safe and stable construction operation platform can be provided for a to-be-constructed bridge above the bridge construction platform, existing structures in a bridge construction area can be strided over, and the influence of bridge construction on the existing structures is reduced to the maximum extent; and the steel structure has good assembling performance and detachability, can be repeatedly used on a plurality of same or similar projects, and is beneficial to reducing resource waste and reducing construction cost.
