The invention discloses a multifunctional filling material for a coal mine goaf and a preparation method of the multifunctional filling material. The multifunctional filling material is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 53 to 55 percent of slag, 30 to 32 percent of fly ash, 8 to 10 percent of cement, 1.5 to 2.5 percent of styrene-acrylic emulsion, 1 to 2 percent of chloride-free early strength agent, 0.9 to 1.1 percent of silicate expanding agent, 0.6 to 1 percent of polycarboxylate superplasticizer and 0.4 to 0.6 percent of lithium carbonate coagulant. The material has the advantages that (1) the compressive strength of the material is better, and the settlement risk of a goaf can be effectively reduced; (2) the material has low permeability after being solidified, and leakage of poisonous and harmful gas is reduced to a certain extent; (3) the silicate expanding agent in the material has a certain inhibition effect on the residual coal, so that the risk of spontaneous combustion of the residual coal is reduced; and (4) the material has good fluidity, good grouting efficiency can be ensured, and the conveying cost is reduced.
