The invention provides a hydraulic emergency gate opening system and method for a dam flood discharge single-cylinder hydraulic gate. The hydraulic emergency gate opening system comprises a high-position water source module used for high-position water taking and providing high-pressure water power. The tail end of the high-position water source module is connected with a hydraulic driving module for transmitting power; the power output end of the hydraulic driving module is connected with an oil pressure driving module for providing hydraulic power through a transmission connecting rod; and the oil pressure driving module is connected with the single-cylinder hydraulic gate. According to the system, a high-position water source serves as a power source to enter a rodless cavity of a hydraulic driving hydraulic cylinder to drive a transmission connecting rod to drive an oil pressure driving hydraulic cylinder to operate towards the rodless cavity, and the rodless cavity of the oil pressure driving hydraulic cylinder pushes turbine oil to form pressure oil to enter a rod cavity of a single-cylinder hydraulic gate hydraulic cylinder to drive a gate to perform gate opening operation; the system can build pressure oil without depending on a power supply and a pressure oil pump, and the reliability of emergency door opening is improved.
