The invention relates to masonry mortar for reducing efflorescence of a bare brick wall and a preparation method of the masonry mortar. The masonry mortar comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 15%-25% of cement, 2%-5% of fly ash, 1%-2% of silica fume, 60%-80% of sand, 0.01%-0.1% of a water reducing agent, 0.1%-0.4% of redispersible rubber powder, 0.1%-0.4% of water-soluble fluoride and 0.01%-0.1% of a waterproof agent. By adding the redispersible rubber powder and the siloxane waterproof agent, a protective film can be formed inside and outside the mortar, the migration of water in the masonry mortar is reduced, and alkali ions are prevented from being enriched on the surface of a brick wall along with the migration of the water. In the masonry mortar formula disclosed by the invention, all the components have a synergistic effect, so that the saltpetering probability of the plain brick wall is reduced from multiple aspects, and the problem that saltpetering is easily caused during masonry of the traditional plain brick wall can be effectively solved.
