The invention provides a concrete retaining wall structure and a construction method thereof. The concrete retaining wall structure solves the problem that an existing slope retaining structure is low in height and cannot be combined with solid waste. The concrete retaining wall structure comprises a bottom plate and a retaining wall body arranged on the bottom plate, the retaining wall body is formed by splicing a plurality of bins extending vertically, the lower ends of the bins are in seamless connection with the bottom plate, and the bins are filled with solid waste filler. The construction method comprises the following steps that the bottom plate is poured on a foundation; building silos which are continuously distributed in a stepped manner on the bottom plate; the silo is filled with solid waste filler; and the top of the silo is sealed by using ultra-high performance concrete. The solid waste filler is sealed and stored through the silo, so that a large amount of solid waste is consumed, the leakage risk does not exist, and the influence on the environment is extremely low; and the silo is filled with the solid waste filler, so that the stability of the retaining wall structure can be improved, and the safety of ultrahigh filling disposal is ensured.
